Event Details
On Saturday 12th September 2026, Windmill Hill City Farm will throw open its gates for a very special celebration as they mark 50 years at the heart of our community.
What began in 1976 as a bold community-led vision to transform a derelict site into something positive for local people has grown into one of Bristol’s most loved community spaces. For five decades, the farm has been a place where people connect with nature, learn new skills, improve their wellbeing, volunteer, grow food and build lasting friendships.
To celebrate this remarkable milestone, they’re inviting everyone to join us for a day of music, creativity, food, fun and community spirit. Whether you’ve been visiting the farm for years or have never set foot through our gates before, they’d love you to be part of this special occasion.
Throughout the day, the farm will be buzzing with activity. Enjoy live music from local performers, get involved with hands-on nature crafts and family activities, watch live art being created, explore our special “50 Stories for 50 Years” exhibition, or simply relax with friends over great farm food and drink while soaking up the atmosphere.
Children can take part in traditional fayre games, creative workshops, puppet shows and outdoor adventures, while adults can browse local stalls, discover community projects, enjoy performances and revisit the stories that have shaped the farm over the last half-century.
Best of all, every activity is included in your ticket price, making it a fantastic value day out for the whole family.
